"Beyond the Beige: Urban Exploring"
A few faculty noticed that when students went to Seattle for an assignment, they came back very excited and with a very new perspective.
It seems many students don't spend much time in Seattle or other cities

| We suspected that if they did so it might benefit them and their learning...and just be a lot of fun. Beyond the Beige: Urban Explorations are our attempt at offering various excursions in the hopes of that students can experience what life has to offer beyond the suburbs. |

"Beyond the Beige: Urban Exploring" is going Contra dancing in the Phinney Neighborhood of Seattle Friday, February 15th, 7-10pm, and checking out a film at the Crest Theater Friday February 29th, 7-9:30pm. Click the link for more details on this and upcoming events.

Hi All,
A few Cascadians are going to lunch at Tandoori Fire, to have a chat and also discuss our new series called "Beyond the Beige: Urban Exploring" where we will go to movies, restaurants, and anything else that catches our fancy. The Tandoori Fire has a lunch buffet that is $7.95. It is located at the junction of 522, Bothell-Everett Hwy and Main Street- across from Grease Monkey http://www.tandoorifire.com/index_files/Page714.htm We will head over this Thursday, January 10th around 11am and I will be there until at least 12:30pm, so feel free to come anytime that works for you. Beyond the Beige: Urban Exploring is about....well guess it is somewhat explanatory..... getting out of the suburbs and enjoying the many activities and events that are happening in the region. Many people already do this, we are just hoping to connect them more people as they do it. Others would like to try something outside of the local cineplex or mall, yet just need the opportunity and perhaps the company to make it happen. We will be planning outings to various events throughout the term, which anyone is welcome to come along or not- it is an open invitiation-not a committment. Everyone is welcome to come along, for the meal or later to any of the events. We will be posting more info about events for Beyond the Beige as soon as possible.
