Family?
This service learning course is studying the institutional makeup of families. We will spend a minimum of 10 hours at a site in our local community offering our individual skills and gaining knowledge from the wisdom of the organizations we are working with. Check back for updates as students begin utilizing this area.

Here is an update on Maywood Hilss from Bethany:
Hello everyone,

I let Maywood Hills principal David Hoffman know that we would all be attending his orientation at 10:00am on Thursday, January 31st. I will be driving to Maywood Hills and have space for three in my car. If anyone is interested in carpooling we could meet in front of the Cascadia building near the information desk (basement level) at 9:40. Just let me know. If you want to use your own transportation that is fine too. David wants us all to meet in the main office at Maywood Hills at 10:00am. Please respond to this email just to let me know you received it and are aware of Thursday’s orientation!

Thanks and I look forward to seeing all of you Thursday!

Here is an update on Hopelink that Bethany sent Kazu:

I just called Hopelink and they are very interested in having Cascadia students do service with them. The headquarters is located in Redmond but she said they have a few programs located in Bothell that we might be a more interested to work with. She is updating the list of needs and should have it emailed to me tomorrow. She mentioned one program, the Transitional Housing Facility, that could use a hand. It is a facility where homeless families reside ( for up to 2 years) and receive counseling from a family development specialist. They also receive support in other areas. I will update you on the service opportunities when I hear back from her.
